Founded in 2019, Firmus AI is a preconstruction technology company specialising in drawing-based risk analysis, it uses AI to interpret construction doc sets and surface design issues looking for errors.
Recently, it was acquired by the Nemetschek Group for integration into Bluebeam workflows.
Firmus offers two core products: AI-REVIEW, which scans PDF drawing sets to flag scope gaps, missing information, and cross-discipline inconsistencies; and AI-MATCH, an add-on that automatically compares drawings across disciplines, scales, or project phases. Users upload drawing collections to the cloud platform.
AI-REVIEW provides a project dashboard with prioritised markups and issue tracking across revisions. AI-MATCH identifies differences between drawing sets, such as architectural vs structural or schematic vs CD. Dashboard and reporting tools support collaboration among architects, contractors, and owners. Firmus uses computer-vision and domain-trained machine learning to interpret drawings visually—detecting missing elements, inconsistencies, and revisions. It speeds up manual QA.
