Bimify is a Stockholm-based startup founded in 2020 by architects and tech entrepreneurs aiming to accelerate building digitalisation. It grew out of industry frustration with outdated, undigitised building documentation and launched a scan to BIM modelling service in 2022. The company is partly owned by Addnode Group.
Users upload architectural drawings/ PDFs/ images along with an optional specification of template/family libraries. The service analyses geometry, identifies elements (walls, windows, doors, slabs, rooms), and generates a native RVT or IFC model.
It applies engineering rules—such as standard wall thicknesses—to improve accuracy. Behind the scenes, Bimify leverages machine learning for element detection and classification across floor plans and scans. The AI cross-references building rules (“engineering intelligence”) to validate outputs, allegedly yielding higher confidence output and fewer user corrections.
