Blyncsy

Blyncsy is a platform for real-time roadway condition assessments and asset inventory, aimed at cities, local governments and state departments of transportation (DOTs).

It uses crowd-sourced dash camera imagery from thousands of vehicles and other sources, such as the Google Maps Platform, to gather visual data of roads, infrastructure, markings, and signage etc.

Imagery is fed into machine learning / computer‐vision models that are trained to automatically detect over 40 different roadway maintenance issues in near real-time. This includes roadway assets, such as signs, guardrails, street lighting and paint lines, and their condition (e.g. damaged, missing, poor visibility). It can even detect construction zones or when trash, vegetation or other debris is on or near roadways.

Extracted data is geolocated and can be integrated into geospatial platforms, digital twins, and asset‐management systems.

Blyncsy was acquired by Bentley Systems in 2023.
