AntiRender is a free website that takes glossy architectural renders and shows you what they are likely to look like in reality.

The website, which relies on donations to keep it running, is seen as a corrective to render culture, and as a reminder that imagination, intuition and good taste are all parts of the job that AI cannot perform.

“Upload an architectural render. Get back what it’ll actually look like on a random Tuesday in November,” writes the website developer, Magnus Hambleton. “No sunshine. No happy families. No impossibly green trees. Just cold, honest, depressing reality.”
