Advanced Project Search is a new AI search capability for the Synthesis platform, an AEC-focused intranet and Learning Management System (LMS) designed to help AEC teams explore their firm’s project history with ‘far greater clarity’.
Users can search across all integrated AEC software platforms — including Deltek, Unanet, aec360 and OpenAsset — as well as multiple content types such as projects, videos, pages, posts and documents, all from a single search box on the intranet.
By unifying these data sources, Advanced Project Search enables users to more easily query their firm’s portfolio, asking questions and follow-up questions, refining queries with additional context, and exploring topics as one would in natural conversation.
Synthesis AI Search provides citations for each result, linking back to the original source, so users can verify information.
The platform is designed to respond to detailed business and technical questions. For example, firms can ask about their average cost per square foot for higher education projects, identify laboratory projects over 200,000 square feet delivered in Washington within the last five years, or find out which projects have won AIA awards. It can also surface more specific technical experience, such as projects designed with automated humidification controls.
In addition, Advanced Project Search can analyse collaboration patterns. Users can identify healthcare projects completed with particular consultants, determine which architects have worked on projects in specific states, or see which higher education projects two named team members have delivered together with a particular engineering partner.

The AI Spotlight Directory is published by AEC Magazine in partnership with HP and Nvidia.
