iTwin Capture is used to create engineering-ready reality data, such as reality meshes, classified point clouds, and orthophotos using digital cameras, scanners, and mobile mapping devices. Projects can scale from a few centimetres to entire cities.
iTwin Capture comes with desktop (iTwin Capture Console) and mobile (iTwin Capture Mobile) applications for uploading reality data. Meanwhile, the cloud-based platform offers parallel cloud-processing capabilities along with centralised management and sharing, making reality data accessible for design, engineering, construction and operations workflows.
iTwin Capture applies machine learning algorithms to automatically extract features and detect defects, such as cracks in infrastructure (e.g. tunnels or bridges). The aim of this automation is to reduce manual inspection workloads, saving hours, even days, by turning raw reality capture data into insights that inform decisions.
A seperate desktop application, iTwin Capture Modeler can also be used for processing, using an Nvidia graphics card for machine learning automatic colour equalisation, ground and feature extraction.
iTwin Capture is used as a foundation technology for dedicated industry solutions for monitoring the condition of bridges and dams.
