Progress AI from DroneDeploy is a ‘visual intelligence’ solution for automated progress tracking from both aerial and ground capture data.
Progress AI uses vision-language models (VLMs) – a step beyond traditional large language models (LLMs) – to interpret real-world visual data from drone flights and 360 walkthroughs and then generate ‘structured insights’ automatically. According to the developers, this ‘next-generation’ AI doesn’t just read text; it understands what it sees.
DroneDeploy is a US-born reality-capture and drone cloud platform aimed at construction sites, energy, and infrastructure teams with aerial and ground-based site intelligence.
DroneDeploy offers a unified capture environment with modules like Aerial Fly (drone mapping), Ground Walk (360 walkthrough capture), Robotics (api-controlled drones and ground robots), and Dock Automation (autonomous, scheduled data capture from docked devices).
All data flows seamlessly into centralised dashboards. Users plan flights or site walks, and DroneDeploy delivers precise maps, 3D models, and inspection outputs. Construction teams can automate inspections, track earthworks, monitor facade and MEP installation, and document as-built conditions—saving time and reducing rework.
DroneDeploy also uses AI to convert aerial and 360° data into structured, real-time progress insights.
Its Safety AI will flag hazards and its AI Annotation feature adds area stockpiles and tree counts.
