Parallelo is a Norway-based proptech startup (spun out from TAG Architects in 2019) which develops AI-assisted design tools for large-scale residential projects.
Parallelo is a browser-first generative design platform. Users build a library of apartment types, draw building envelopes from imported DXF outlines, then let Parallelo generate efficient floorplan options.
Designers define parameters — apartment mix, sizes, wall thickness, stair types, balconies — and Parallelo outputs optimised layouts that balance architectural quality with project economics.
Key performance indicators like gross-to-net ratio and potential project value update in real time. Users can refine, override, and interactively edit the generated layouts. Under the hood, Parallelo leverages optimisation algorithms tailored to assess millions of layout permutations. It generates configurations that meet spatial and economic constraints, enabling rapid “what-if” exploration.
