Icon (Icon Technology, Inc.) is a construction tech firm based in Austin, Texas which specialises in 3D printing buildings with robotics and advanced materials.

Icon’s ecosystem spans robotic 3D printers (Vulcan for single-story homes, Phoenix for multi-story structures), the Magma mixing system, low-carbon materials like CarbonX or Lavacrete, and a digital design suite—BuildOS—for translating architectural plans into precise robot instructions.

The Vulcan and Phoenix systems construct buildings layer by layer directly on-site. Magma ensures optimal concrete mixing despite real-world environmental variability.

BuildOS serves as the digital backbone, coordinating design, materials, and robotic execution. Icon unveiled Vitruvius, an AI architect currently in beta, capable of generating floor plans, renders, budgets, permits, and schedules from human inputs. It’s designed to become a fully generative system—from concept through construction documents.
